I.2. From the South (Mannheim)
The map shows the Osburger Hochwald. Schillingen is marked up by the red circle. The red line is the B 407 (Hundsrückhöhenstraße), the pink line ist the A 1 Saarbrücken - Trier. Take exit Rheinsfeld or Hermeskeil.
Enter the A 6 at the junctions Viernheim or Frankenthal. Keep going until you get to the intersection Landstuhl, where you can take the A 62 in the direction of Trier until you get to the exit Reinsfeld. From there follow the signs in the direction of Kell.
I.3. From the West (Luxemburg)
You can take the motorway leadind from Luxemburg to Trier. From there you get to the B 52 which you have to follow until you get to the exit Reinsfeld. From there follow the signs in the direction of Kell.
For everyone: The road which takes you to Kell and Schillingen is called Hunsrückhöhenstraße -by the way it goes back to Roman times and is quite famous - or B 407. If you drive past Kell you'll soon see the name of Schillingen on the road sign. Leave the B 407 and follow the main street through the village until you leave it again in the direction of Heddert. After about a kilometer you'll reach the tennis courts.
If you are looking for a difficult, time-consuming and uncomfortable way to get to Schillingen, this is it. Like most of the Hochwald Schillingen can't be reached by train so you must take a bus. You can travel to Trier by train. At the station you can catch a bus to Schillingen. At least that way you'll see a lot of little Hochwald villages. If you can't persuade the driver to stop in front of the tennis courts you must get out at Heddert or at the first stop in Schillingen, near the graveyard. Either way it's about a 15-minute walk to the tennis courts.
